
About the Course:
Standard (Intermediate) First Aid is a comprehensive two-day course designed for workplaces and individuals who require a higher level of first aid training. It covers CPR, wound care, medical emergencies, environmental emergencies, and injuries to bones, muscles, and joints, and meets Alberta OHS and Canadian Red Cross standards.

Prerequisites:
Full Course: none
Recertification: Proof of current Intermediate or Standard First Aid certification by a CRC-recognized national training agency required. The CRC-recognized national training agencies include the Canadian Red Cross, St. John Ambulance, Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, Lifesaving Society, and the Canadian Ski Patrol.

Course Completion Criteria:
• Demonstrate a working competency in all required skills.
• Achieve a minimum score of 75% on a written, closed-book knowledge evaluation completed independently.
• Attend and actively participate in 100% of the course.
• Must adhere to the Fundamental Principles of the Red Cross.
