About the Course
As of 2024, Red Cross Instructors now recertify each discipline individually before individual certification expiry dates.
Prerequisites:
Have a current Red Cross Psychological First Aid Instructor certification.
Have taught at least three Psychological First Aid courses or three Red Cross First Aid Program courses, one of which was a course during the three-year certification period.
One course must have been taught in each discipline the Instructor is seeking recertification (course taught must be at the highest level of certification within each discipline; recertification and blended courses also qualify).
Local legislators may set additional requirements. Please check the legislation in your area for further requirements.
Courses taught in combination (e.g., Standard First Aid and CPR C) do not count as separate courses for recertification prerequisites.
Certification:
Certifications are valid for 3 years from the certification date identified on the discipline-specific course certificate.
