This Canadian Red Cross training course is primarily for those workers designated with the responsibility as an Advanced Workplace First Aid Attendant. In some jurisdictions, this Advanced First Aid course is approved for pre-hospital first medical responders. Courses offered in both Calgary and Red Deer.

This AFA program also meets the recruitment requirements of Calgary and Edmonton Fire Rescue Services.

AHASTI Medical First Responder Training Program (MFR)

Medical First Responder (MFR)

AHASTI's Medical First Responder (MFR) includes the CSA-approved Canadian Red Cross Advanced First Aid with BLS/AED, ITLS Basic Provider, and one day of MFR protocol review and practice. This course meets Fire Department application requirements and prerequisite for many Primary Care Paramedics programs.

This AFA included in this program also meets the recruitment requirements of Calgary and Edmonton Fire Rescue Services.

Are the manuals included in these courses?

The AFA course and the AFA portion of the MFR programs include an e-book version in the cost. If you would like to purchase a physical copy of the manual, it can be added to your courses at checkout.
The ITLS program requires participants to have a copy of the 9th edition physical manual. Participants may purchase a copy at checkout or source their own.

How do I transfer my AFA certification to an OFA3 to work in BC?
